BCL provide building cost estimates for building contractors.
Our experienced estimators provide detailed returns which will help you understand the costs and specifications of your project. We consider the current labour, material and plant rates in your area along with a tender adjudication which employs subtle and subjective commercial judgement in arriving at your bid figure.
Tender Negotiations
BCL will work alongside you in tender negotiations with suppliers and contractors, ensuring you are achieving value-for-money at all stages of your project. The contractor that initially submits the lowest price may not always offer the best value or provide a fully compliant tender for contract award.
For contractors, we can negotiate your tenders with your client, helping to achieve the best outcome on your bid.
Take-off / Builders Quantities
BCL use the latest CostX software to ensure efficient and accurate take-offs throughout the life cycle of your project.
Take-offs can be utilised to prepare estimates and cost plans, evaluating design alternatives, in the measurement of variations, in calculating payments and in agreeing the final accounts.
Bills of Quantities Production
BCL prepare Bills of Quantities as part of the tender documentation that is issued to prospective suppliers to obtain a price.
The Bills of Quantities will be in a standard format which allow for a direct comparison between contractors pricing on your project. It will also provide a basis for post contract management, including valuing variations, final account preparation, interim valuations and audit.
Value Engineering
BCL can assist with the Value Engineering process, used to drive out unnecessary and excessive costs, in order to ensure value for money.
Value engineering techniques can be used throughout the life cycle of your project, from initial feasibility right through to handover. The process aims to ensure that your project is delivered for the best value without compromising on time.
